He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Oliver Byas and Zula Mae Hammond-Byas; and his siblings, Mamie Melton, Virginia Pierce, Elizabeth Harris and Jerry Byas.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Byas; and his children, Deborah Burke (Steve) and Tony Byas (Janet). He is also survived by his five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
