He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert R. Ellis and Sybil Cursey Ellis; his brothers, Tom Ellis and Jim Ellis; his son David; and his grandson Bryan Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his daughters, Sylvia Harp (Lance), Debra Smith (Richard) and Kathryn Carter (Timothy); and his grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan Harp, Kelsee, Benjamin Buentello, Jarrod and Alicia Smith.
