William Clark Hamlin Obituary
Funeral services for William Clark Hamlin, 83, of Spring, Texas, will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas with Michael Hamlin officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlisle Cemetery in Trinity, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. just prior to the service at the Cochran Funeral Home.
On May 25, 2023 at 11:47 p.m., a beautiful soul passed from this wonderful life he had in the arms of Jesus. William Clark Hamlin was born May 24, 1940, to William Lee Hamlin and Nancy (Matlock) Hamlin in Brownwood, Texas. Eventually the family welcomed 2 other children for him to lead, John and Nancy. They had many adventures of hunting, fishing and ham radio. The family moved to Corpus Christi where he finished high school. One night when he was 15 at square dancing lesson. He met Beverly Arp. There the courting began. On August 13, 1960 they became one in marriage. They began their life together in Oklahoma where he finished his degree. He met his best friend, Mike Kruegar. All 3 were inseparable for education, hunting and fishing. On May 14, 1962 a young man who didn't read the calendar was born in Oklahoma versus... being 9th generation Texan, Michael Clark Hamlin.
At the age of 57 he felt the Lord calling him into ministry. He would teach Sunday School Classes that kept growing because of his story telling of the Bible. Eventually, he opened Christ Way Bible Church preaching, baptizing, marrying and preforming funerals. He was asked to be a part of Shepherds for the Savior bringing his candy core ministry for the underprivileged children all over. This ministry went into Mexico and Cambodia. In Mexico he was known as the "White Dove". Each time he went down, the crowds grew to hear the "White Dove". He was a fun loving son, brother, friend, Pastor, husband, father and grandfather.
Bill worked for many government places from FAA, Military, CIA, Informatics and Penzoil. People called him from all over the country and world. He assisted with the likes of Artificial Intelligence and was interviewed by Walt Disney.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Hamlin; brother and sister-in-law, John and Carol Hamlin; and best friend Michael Kruegar.
Left over here on earth, wife, Beverly Hamlin; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Hamlin; grandchildren, Kyle, Dean and Megan Hamlin; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Brian Cooke.
