It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Helms of Spring, Texas, born in Hobbs, New Mexico, who passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Vernon and Maude Eloise Helms; and his brothers, Vernon Helms Jr. and Wayne Helms. He is survived by: his wife Blenda Helms; his children, Kassidy James (Jason) and Zach Helms (Tara Helms); his sister Genell Emerson; his sister-in-law Nelda Helms; his sister Peggy Dieter (Philip Dieter); and his grandchildren, Anna, Reese, Hartley, Beau, Wyatt and Payton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to MD Anderson.
