He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Hejl and Mary Hejl; and his brother Jim Hejl. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Dueitt Hejl; his grandsons, Blake Borron and Jake Hammer; and his sister-in-law Teresa Hejl.
