He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Hansferd Dear and Ethel Roberts Dear; and his former wife Carla Jean Dear. He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Dear; his children, Kimberly Jean Dear (Barbara) and Brian Ray Dear (Jessica); his stepchildren, Jena M. Workman and Kara L. Morgan (Chris); his sisters, Gayle Brumfield and Glennell Strawn (Terry); his nieces, Elizabeth Arnold and Julie Evanicky; his aunt Dollye Roberts; and also Rachel Masten. He is also survived by cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the church building fund, http://www.championforest.org.
