He was predeceased by: his brother Robert Mendez; his grandparents, Celsa Berlanga and Paul Berlanga; his aunt Soccoro Sanchez; his uncle Armando Mendez; and his pet Wolfgang Bach.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Mendez; his children, Marissa (Hernan), Mercedes (Mike), Mark (Vianey) and David Mathew (Valeria); his grandchildren, Mila Rose, Nani, Papo, Marianna, Pippy, Eddie, Maranda and Cruz; his parents, Sylvia Araujo and Alipio Araujo; his brother Genaro Mendez; and his uncle Esteban Sanchez.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Felix H. Morales Funeral Home - Central (2901 Canal St, Houston, TX 77003). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (22800 Aldine Westfield Rd, Spring, TX 77373). A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Calvary Hill Cemetery (21723 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338).
