He is survived by: his mother Sharin Smith; his wife Karen Wheeles Martin; his stepfather Gordon Smith; his daughter Nicole Brummett; his grandson Gavin Brummett; his siblings, Scott Matteson (Cyndie) and Shannon Miller; his niece Kelsey Miller Rivers (Trevor); his nephew Carson Miller (Brittany); his great-nephew Sutton; his stepsiblings, Carla Crow and Greg Smith; and his former wife Debra Matteson.

A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266).
