He was predeceased by: his siblings, Vernon Courtney Barrow, Carolyn Elizabeth McAdams (Barrow) and Geraldine Milstead. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Gail Barrow; his children, Samuel Ray Barrow, Jr. (Tracy), Jesse Wayne Barrow, Cary Glenn Hull (Meredith), J. C. Barrow (Gwen) and Tina LaRae Muck; his siblings, Leonard Barrow, Charlene Bonnette, Norma Inkster (Stan) and Mary Smith (Walter); his grandchildren, Lauren Rosson (Andrew), Brandi Hibner (Joey), Raelynn and Brady Barrow; and his great grandchildren, Haliegh, Madilyn, Gracie Rosson, Bryson, Zane, Alana Rushing, Landen Hogans, Paisley Muck, Lanee Swiech, Rylei Brewer, Travis Swiech and Emma Skipper.
