It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruben Rodriguez Escamilla of South Padre Island, Texas, who passed away on October 20, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernabe Escamilla Jr. and Margarita Rodriguez Escamilla; and his siblings, Saul Escamilla, Bernabe Escamilla III and Eva Peña.

He is survived by: his wife Loveada Escamilla; his daughters, Raquel R. Elizondo (Raul), Elizabeth M. Escamilla (Dan Overholt) and Melissa E. Castillo (Rick); his siblings, Noe Escamilla of Weslaco, Adan Escamilla of California, Lilia Carr of Houston and Lucy Gonzalez of Weslaco; his grandchildren, Daniel Cruz, Brandon Chol Chong, Alexandra Lee Elizondo Noe (Seth), Katrina Alysse Worley, Ruben Austin Chong, Samantha Rose Elizondo, Joses Castillo, Tristan James Worley and Cassandra Marie Elizondo; and his great grandchild Ashton Jaime Luna.
