He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Cardenas and Maria-Trinidad Cardenas; and his brothers, Efrain Cardenas, Francisco Cardenas, Ruben Cardenas and Gilberto Cardenas.
He is survived by: his wife Maricela; his children, Noemi Cardenas Mares and Hector Manuel Cardenas; his grandchildren, Destinee, Desiree, Paul Jr., Jovanni and Ariel; and his siblings, Maricela Cardenas, Elia Cardenas, Ana Cardenas and Carlos Cardenas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
