He is survived by: his wife Sharon Abernathy; his daughter Sherry Villemez (Wade); his mother-in-law Helen Anderson; his sisters-in-law, Linda Earp (Rusty) and Sandra Abernathy; his grandchildren, Dayne Wiggins, Kristina and Trevor Wiggins (Kerstin); his stepgrandchildren, Mitchell Villemez (Madison), Michael Villemez, Erin Schultz (Nathan), Kathie Bishop (Buddy), Kori Villemez and Reagan Casey (Andrew); and his nieces and nephews, Robert McGregor, Dana, Scotty Gibbs, Terri, Mistie Abernathy, Betty Jo Daniels (Randy), Travis Abernathy (Lisa), Deanna Lynn Abernathy, Scott Abernathy, Shelley, Timothy Mears, Sheila, Reyes Flores, Cara, Ronny Barrier, Zachary Mears, Reyrey Flores, Alex Flores and Alyssa Mears.
