He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marie and Luke Sr.; his siblings, Jim and Mary Jane Smith; his wife Martha Lee Velau Parchman; his children, Robert Parchman (Cheryl) of New Braunfels, Cindy Parchman McCoy of Fort Worth, David Parchman (Elizabeth) of Somerset and Rosa Parchman of Portland; and his brother-in-law David Velau (Lourdes) of Freer, TX.. He was also cherished by 7 grandchildren, and 6 great children.
