He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Luera and Paula Garcia (Ortiz); his wife Mary Helen Luera; and his siblings, Locadio Luera and Mary Ann Balboa.
He is survived by: his children, Jesse Luera of Snyder, TX, Amy Luera (Lance Burton), Lisa Luera and Linda Tovar (Guadalupe); and his siblings, Gilbert Luera of Ganado, TX, Domingo Luera, Sr. of Snyder, TX, Alex Hernandez, Jr. of Arlington, TX, Martin Hernandez of Colorado City, TX, Jessie Hernandez of Victoria, TX, Lydia Galvin of El Campo, TX, Beatrice Castillo of Somerset, TX, Julie Lara of El Campo, TX and Gloria Lara of Ganado, TX.. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
