He was predeceased by: his parents, Frans Oskar and Alma Johnson; his wife Gertrude "Gert" McNitt; his sister-in-law Lureen F. Mullally; and his granddaughter Cora Marian McDonald.

He is survived by: his children, Oscar, Melody Dorman, Patrick Dorman (Eva), Troy Dorman (Brooke), Joy Laird Carroll (Trey), Bilinda Dorman Soto, Ladd Laird (Brandi) and Holly Dorman McDonald (Todd); his brother-in-law Charles Mullally; and his nieces, Darcy Mullally and Shannon Mullally.
