It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Willie Kellar of Smithville, Texas, who passed away on May 31, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Kellar and Beaulah Kellar; his wife Marilyn Yoast Kellar; his former wife Beverly Kellar; and his siblings, Dorothy Miller, Dot Dinges, Martha Yoast, Homer, Lumar, Wilbert and John Kellar.

He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy and Lonnie Kellar; and his grandchildren, Kylan, Kasey, Hayli Kellar and Lane Kellar.

“Some 60 years ago, “ Coach” came to Lexington. I was in 7 th grade, and he taught Texas History.. He was very proud of the Bowie knife he had made himself. We became friends, and have spent many hours on the river camping near Rocky Hill. I had the honor of being in his and Marilyn’s Wedding. I visited them over the years, but our lives moved in different directions. I did have the pleasure of spending a day with Coach in Smithville about 6 years ago. I am grateful to have Coach be my friend.”
