He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Benedix and Katherine Benedix (Krieg); his siblings, Elizabeth Votaw, Jo Ann Karstedt and Walter Benedix; and his brothers-in-law, James Becker, RobertKarstedt and Rhinehardt Karstedt.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Frank Votaw of Angleton; his sisters, Mary Ann Duty (Jim) of Smithville, Darlene Becker of Smithville and Janie Hunter of Cuero; and his nieces and nephews, Vicki Vinklarek, Jimmy Duty Jr., Janice Havens, Leroy Votaw, Christina Webber, Clyde Votaw, Kerry Becker, Darrell Becker, Sophie Karstedt, Crystal Voges, Art Hunter Jr., Jason Benedix, Walter Benedix II, Trey Benedix and Tana Beath.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Grace Lutheran Church of Smithville.
