Coey Zapalac Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Coey Zapalac of Smithville, Texas, born in La Marque, Texas, who passed away on September 25, 2021, at the age of 51, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Mickey Gilmore; her grandparents, Lloyd, Virginia Gilmore, William and Nancy Carter; her uncle Joe Cooper; her mother-in-law Sharon Zapalac; and her niece Victoria Zapalac.

She is survived by: her mother Suzanne Carter Gilmore; her husband Steve Zapalac, Jr.; her children, Blakelee Saunders Bledsoe (Kegan), Lane Terrell Saunders, Kennedi Sloan Zapalac and Kristin Zapalac Miles (Dillin); her sister Kari; her brother-in-law Charlie Sneed; her sister Niki Gilmore; her father-in-law Steve Zapalac Sr.; her brothers-in-law, Shawn Zapalac and Shannon Zapalac; and her grandsons, Knox Bledsoe, Braylin and Caenin Miles. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UTMD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Coey Gilmore Zapalac.
