He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jesusa Rice (Medina); his daughter Missy Dirks (Ronald); and his stepdaughters, Adriane Jones (Jason), Terry Pena, Tammy Marmalejo (Eric) and Valerie Vargas (Abraham Chavez).
