He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Meurer and Delta Buxkemper Meurer; his former wife Lynda Cheney; and his sister Patricia Meurer. He is survived by: his wife Jessie Meurer; his daughter Angela Wampler (Nolan); his siblings, Doris Alspaugh (Joe), Billy Meurer (Sherry) and Dennis Meurer; and his stepchildren, Valentin DeLeon (Kathy), Joseph DeLeon (Elisa) and Rebecca Baily (Dustin). He is also survived by two granddaughters, three great grandchildren and nine step grandchildren.
