He was predeceased by: his parents, Hughes Lee and Mary Elizabeth Buerger (Owens); his stepmother Elizabeth Stubenthal Buerger; his siblings, Bobby, Hughes, Little T. C. Buerger and Mary Jean Witten; and his daughter Carol Ann "Bootsie" Buerger.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Dee Buerger of Skidmore; his children, Cindy Sherrod (Jerry) of New Braunfels and John Scott Buerger (Flora) of Port Aransas; his sisters, Annie Kunetka of Temple and Edith Lou "Potsy" Gotard (Hank) of North Carolina; and his grandsons, Harris Court Buerger and Alan Thomas Buerger. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
