He was predeceased by: his parents, Monty Clyde and Gertie Mae Gauntt. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ann Gauntt of Simms; his children, Joseph Curtis Jr. (Teresa Gauntt), Linda (Jerry Erie, Jr.), James Richard (Ronelda Shirley) and Wayne (Rachelle Shirley); and his grandchildren, Joseph David Box, Jessica Miller, Josh Shirley, Seanne Shirley and Nicholas Shirley. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
