He is survived by: his parent Ruth Rowland Frist; his wife Alysia Smith Sousa; his stepdaughters, Amanda Lindsey and Brittany Nicholson; his stepgrandchildren, Basey Lindsey, Cathan Lindsey and Heavenly Nicholson; and his siblings, Michael Sousa, John Sousa and Carlene Cox. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
