He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cecilia Katherine Kozol Metz and Emil John Metz; his children, Nina Louise Dorn (Donald) of St. Augustine, Florida, Virginia Katherine Metz of Silsbee, Robert J. Metz, Jr. (Susan Trevathan) of Kountze and David John Metz of Orange; his grandchildren, Philip Wayne Metz, Jennifer Renee Lee, Hunter Allen Franck, Ella Metz, Amber Renee Trevathan and Shannon Trevathan; his sister Charlotte Josephine Sims (Sonny) of Valrico, Florida; and the mother of his children Suzanne Dowling. He was also cherished by three great-grandchildren.
