He was predeceased by: his parents, Ema Harper Hawthorne and Don Lee Hawthorne; his son Don Matthew; and his brother Joe Hawthorne. He is survived by: his children, Barron Lee Hawthorne of Corpus Christi and Elizabeth Ann Hawthorne of Silsbee; and his siblings, Sharion Richards (Jack) of Friendswood, Kathy Hawthorne Ridgway of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jerry Hawthorne (Connie) of Silsbee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
