He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Knippenberg; his son Scott Knippenberg; and his siblings, Barbara Danley and Louis Knippenberg. He is survived by: his children, Karen Fox (Richard) of Aledo, Amy Knippenberg of Aledo, Rev. Robert E. Knippenberg Jr. of Frelsburg, Todd Knippenberg (Lu) of Lewisville and Rev. Patrick S. Knippenberg of Victoria; his grandchildren, Kelly Knippenberg, Erica Fox Gibbins and William Fox; his brothers, Thomas Knippenberg and Roger Knippenberg; and his siblings-in-law, Wanda Knippenberg and Harold Danley. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Diocese of Victoria-Seminarian Education.
