He was predeceased by: his siblings, Alois Jr., Rudolph "Rudy" Opela, Agnes Janak, Mary Pekar, Helen Wall, Gussie Kurtz, Theresia Brosch, Dorothy Fikac and Janie Spacek.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his children, Jeff Opela (Shana), Katherine Mitchell (Lester) and Jane Janak; and his sister Lillie Satsky of Hallettsville. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
