He was predeceased by: his father Robert "Pete" Peterson. He is survived by: his daughter Tesla Hampton; his sister Bobbi Elvington; his stepsiblings, Robin Porter and Lowell Daffern; his mother Jeanie Daffern; and his stepfather Jim Daffern.

Travis selflessly donated his body to UT Southwestern Medical School in hopes of helping future generations.
