He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Mailes and Opal Mailes; his wife Sammie Lou Mailes; his daughter Melissa Mailes; his grandson Grant Garza; and his siblings, Roy, Jim, Eldon Mailes and Norma Welker.
He is survived by: his son Mark Mailes (Suzanne) of Houston; his grandchildren, Amanda Garza Perez and Gregory Garza; and his great grandchildren, Jayson Perez of Austin, TX. and Dylan Perez of Austin, TX..
