He was predeceased by: his father David Clyde Smith; his grandparents, Rosa Luper and O. V. Luper Sr.; his sister Kimberly Luper; his nephew Jason Luper; and his aunts and uncles, James Luper, O. V. Luper Jr., Robert Luper, Ruby Gailes and Elnora Hughes.

He is survived by: his mother Tommie L. Luper; his siblings, Curtis Luper, Nicklous Coleman, Stephanie Luper, Angela Bobo and Keisha Cross; and his friend Debbie Boyd.
