It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Stockton of Sherman, Texas, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Verner Jefferson Brown and Lillie Fae; her husband John Edward Stockton; and her son Jay Verner Stockton. She is survived by: her children, Johnna Jean Nowlin (Keith) of Sherman, Texas, Janet Elaine Baxter (Mike) of Sherman, Texas and Jed Hamilton Stockton of Durant, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law Carolyn Stockton Illif (Randy); her grandchildren, Jamie Morris (Daron), Heather Ary (Ben), Scott Nowlin (Kristin), John Nowlin (Eliana), Blake Stockton (Katrina), Tyler Stockton (Megan), Rachel Watson (Cody), Ryan Stockton (Se'a) and Veronica Millhollon; and her great grandchildren, Christian Millhollon, Skyler Kreil, Drake Nowlin, Wyatt Nowlin, Abigail Stockton, Hannah Stockton, Lilly Stockton, Marshall Stockton, Eli Stockton and Zach Nowlin.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dannel Funeral Home (302 S Walnut St, Sherman, TX 75090-7153). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 2:15 PM at the West Hill Cemetery (1304 W Lamar St, Sherman, TX 75092).
