She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Louise Powell and Pate Powell. She is survived by: her former husband Marvin Thompson (Lou); her daughter Donna (Bryan Ward); her close friends, Frank and Dorothy Connor; her stepmother Ria Powell; her brothers, Jimmy Dan and Wayne Powell; her husband Lou Thompson; her son David Thompson (Susan Rowland); her sisters, Judy (Alan Bell), Mona Busby and Edna (Clay Coppedge); and her grandchildren, Apryelle (Joshua Aguirre), Malachi LeFlore, Kyle Thompson and Keeshia (Jonatan Miles).

This was her daily routine for 20 years before Parkinson's took away her ability to drive and continue this daily activity she loved so much.
