He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Cathey and Bessie Cornelius Cathey; his wife Patsy (Bob); his son Kevin (Tiffany); and his brothers, Jim Cathey and Bill Cathey.
He is survived by: his children, Leslie and Brian (Cindy); his grandchildren, Jessie (Anthony), Garret (Montana), Brittani (Phil) and Caleb; and his great grandchildren, Ellie, Everson, Hollis, Harlan and Remington.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Waldo Funeral Home (619 N Travis St, Sherman, TX 75090). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Western Heights Church of Christ (800 Baker Park Dr, Sherman, TX 75092).
