He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Layton and Evelyn Willeford Layton (Willeford); his wife Betty Layton; and his siblings, Farrell Layton, Weyland Layton (Royce), Evelyn Brisco, Ina Kortz, Lois Crawford and Billie Dean Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Marshall (Chris) of Smith Island, MD, Susan Layton of Sheridan and Robert Layton (Michelle) of Hallettsville; his sisters, Donna Linnemier (Joe) and Cheryl Brisco; his grandchildren, Shelli Laake, Bryan Layton, Thomas Layton, Michael Beyette, Reagan Marshall and Constance Marshall; his great grandchildren, Kendall Layton-Hilt, Robert Nolan Laake, Calli Renee Laake, Jase Ryan Laake, Kaydence Jane Laake, Patricia Beyette and James Beyette; and his great great grandchild Ainsley Faith Hall.
