He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Barnett; his children, Loretta Sue Barnett, Ruth Ann Barnett, Nancy Ann Barnett and Samuel Elbert Barnett Jr.; and his sister Ruby Mae Plymale. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
