He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Howard Shofner and Pat Person; and his brothers, Ed Shofner and Russell Shofner. He is survived by: his wife Vivian Shofner of Center; his children, Hannah Shofner of Center and Marlin Shofner Jr. of Center; and his brother Eric Shofner.
