He was predeceased by: his parents, Nettie Eddins Brittain and Hearn Brittain; his siblings, Lamar Brittain, Hugh "Cotton" Brittain, Hershell Brittain, Joe Brittain and Oneita Brittain Vaughn; and his sister-in-law Mary Frances Shull Hargrove.
He is survived by: his children, Karen (Jimmy Everett Mitchell) and Michael Lance Brittain; his grandchildren, Susan Lea Mitchell, Brian Everett Mitchell (Amanda), Natalie Erin Brittain and Donovan Lance Brittain; his great grandchild Hailey Madison Mitchell; his sister Marjorie Brittain Lundy; his brother-in-law Johnny Hargrove of Shelbyville; his nieces, Kim Hargrove Bridges of Center, Pam Brittain, Lynette Vaughn and Yondi Brittain Upchurch; and his nephew Michael Lynn Brittain.
