He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alejos Delgado and Concepcion Reyna Delgado; his wife Delfina Rodriquez; his son Ruben; his granddaughter Cindy; and his children, Gilbert Jr., Mario, Irma and Mary Jo. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
