We bid farewell to Sammy Tanner of Seven Points, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 17, 2025 at the age of 87. Sammy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the sacred silence of farewell, Sammy is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Sammy's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Tanner and Lucile Tanner (Hodge); his son Tommy; and his sister Wanda Pyle. He is survived by: his wife Delores of Seven Points, Texas; his children, Terry (Marilyn) of Ashdown, Arkansas, Melinda (Toby) of Waxahachie, Texas and Beverlee (Kenny) of Seven Points, Texas; and his sister Vida (Frank). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church (141 Manning St, Gun Barrel City, TX 75156). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at the Pyle Prairie Cemetery (14976 Co Rd 4059, Kemp, TX 75143).
