He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Thiessen (Dyck) and Johan Thiessen; and his former wife Katherine Thiessen. He is survived by: his wife Helena Thiessen (Hildebrandt) of Mexico; his children, Pete Thiessen (Anna) of Seminole, Texas, Frank Thiessen (Lisa) of Seminole, Texas and Annie Peters of Seminole, Texas; his siblings, Johan Thiessen (Susan) of Mexico, Isaac Thiessen (Helen) of Canada, Tina Bueckert of Canada, Nancy Thiessen of Canada, Susan Thiessen of Canada and Eva Rempel (Peter) of Canada; and his stepchildren, Jorge Hiebert (Sara) of Seminole, Texas, Peter Hiebert (Annie) of Seminole, Texas and Enni Fehr (John) of Seminole, Texas. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
