She was predeceased by: her parents, Dominga Gardea (Sotelo) and Fidel Gardea; and her husband Ramon Mata, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Ramon Mata, Jr. of Seminole and Giovanna Davila (Gilbert) of Kermit, Texas; her siblings, Fidel Gardea (Alma) of Odessa, Carlos Gardea (Cenia) of Mexico and Rosa Aguilera (Hugo) of Mexico; and her sister-in-law Luly Gardea of Mexico. She is also survived by four grandchildren.
