He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Knelsen (Hamm) and Frank Knelsen. He is survived by: his wife Aganetha Knelsen of Seminole; his sons, David Knelsen (Anna) of Seminole and John Knelsen (Susan) of Seminole; and his siblings, Diedrich Knelsen (Margaret) of Mexico and Aganetha Friesen (Abe) of Brownfield, Texas. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
