He was predeceased by: his parents, Magdaleno Alvarez and Maria Alvarez (Herrera); and his wife Petra Gonzales. He is survived by: his children, Bruno Alvarez of Seminole, Frank Alvarez of Hobbs, N. M., Richard Alvarez of Lubbock and Blanca Estella Alvarez of Santa Rosa, N. M. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
