He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Woodette Denene McDougald McEvers, his parents, Virgil Frank McEvers and Elsie Mae Young McEvers; his siblings, Lafern Jeloice Key, Billy Frank McEvers; and his grandson Michael Drew Bishop.
He is survived by : his children, Deanna McEvers Singletary (Chad), Corwin Blake McEvers (Kellye) and Jay Wayne McEvers (Louise); his granddaughter Kymberly Sams (Virgil Uptmore); his great grandchildren, Bryan Uptmore and Chloe Garza; his sister-in-law Carolyn McEvers; and his siblings, Karl McEvers (Mary), Sandra Bradford, Darrell McEvers (Kay) and Latricia McEvers, and a large extended family and friends.
