He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Pankau and Helga Pankau (Strempel) of Seguin; his brother Clifford Pankau (Anona); his brother-in-law Harvey Schlichting; his niece Jeanine Schneider (Glenn); his siblings-in-law, Theo, Wilma Heise and Marilyn Helmke (Lester); and his nephew Curtis Nothey.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Pankau (Heise); his daughters, Vanesa Hybner (David), Monica Gould (Steve) and Melanie Murray (Matt); his grandchildren, Shannon Hybner, Megan Stanush (Benjamin), Steve Gould, Jr. (Amber), Michelle Nelson (Blake), Samuel and Kaleb Murray; his great grandchildren, Wesley Stanush, Reed Gould, Ciarra Roberts (Cale), Kayla, Braide, Elijah, Honora and Isaiah Nelson; his great great grandchildren, Mallory, Scarlett and Dane Roberts; his siblings, Betty Jean Schlichting and Milton Pankau (Pat); and his sister-in-law Diana Kneupper (Wray).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or a charity of one's choice.
