She was predeceased by: her parents, Elzoria Carter (Slone) and Robert Carter; and her siblings, James Leon Carter, Sr., Carlos Carter and Myrle Scott.
She is survived by: her children, Christopher Smith and Lisa Glenewinkel (David); her grandson David Alan Glenewinkel, II; her brother Donald Carter; and her sister-in-law Jo Turner Carter. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
