He was predeceased by: his parents, Arturo Cortez and Adela Zuniga Cortez; his daughters, Mary Lou Cortez and Mary Helen Cortez; his siblings, Florencio Cortez and San Juanita Sanchez; his granddaughter Desteny Bravo; and his great grandchild Aluciano Bravo.
He is survived by: his wife Maria R. Cortez; his children, Maricela Bravo (Alex), Elenino Cortez (Judy) and Arturo Cortez (Alicia); and his siblings, Josefina Cortez and Vicente Cortez. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home - Harlingen (1702 E Harrison Ave, Harlingen, TX 78550). A rosary was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sebastian Guadalupe Cemetery.
