He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Simmons and Dorothy Simmons (Roach). He is survived by: his wife Mary Helen Simmons; his children, John E. Simmons, Jr. and Yvonne Rivera; and his brother Jerry Simmons. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
