He was predeceased by: his parents, Lelia Evans Derry and Volna Derry Sr.; his daughter Volnita Rene; his stepdaughter Cassandra Allen; and his siblings, Dolphus Derry, Rosecy R Wilkinson, Norma J Derry, David L. Derry, Velna M Barnhardt and Cornell W. Derry.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Lynch Derry; his daughter Crystal Derry Votzke (Ret Sonya Derry Sanders); his grandchildren, Christopher Votzke and Derra Sanders; his great grandchild Elijah Votzke of Tampa, FL.; his sister Eva Richards (Bryant) of Greenville, TX.; his former wife Flora Mae Jenkins; and his daughter Sonya Gail.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the American Heritage Funeral Home (10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
