She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Blanche Boyles Scales and Samuel Dalton Scales; her husband Glen Robert Staples; her sons, Lloyd Ray Staples and Timothy Dalton Staples; and her brothers, Joseph Scales, Percy "Sonny" Scales, Robert Scales and James Samuel "Sammy" Scales.
She is survived by: her great grandchildren, Jaxson Chewning, Jace Chewning, Brooks Odom, Stevie Odom and Macy Matthews; her sister Marian Scales Isley; and her nephew James Phillip Scales (Janet).
